Pool quotes are hard to compare when every builder prices a slightly different pool.

Your request goes to each contractor with the same size, finish, budget and start date, so the numbers line up. They visit, measure and send a written quote. You deal with them directly, and you decide who builds it, if anyone.

What a villa pool costs in Dubai in 2026

A standard 8 × 4 m concrete pool is estimated at AED 120,000 to 230,000 for the core build, before VAT.

Decking, a chiller, consultant drawings and the approval process are usually priced on top. Tight access can add a lot, for example when the digger has to come in over the boundary wall.

How long the build takes

Plan on two to six weeks for approvals, then roughly eight to twelve weeks on site for a standard concrete pool. Summer builds run slower: from 15 June to 15 September, the UAE midday break stops outdoor work in direct sun between 12:30 and 3 pm.

Approvals to get before anyone digs

Every new pool in Dubai, including one in a private villa garden, needs its plans and design approved before construction starts.

That rule comes from Dubai Law No. 2 of 2026, in force since 1 June 2026. The approving body is Dubai Municipality's Environment, Health and Safety Agency.

Last checked against the law text and Dubai Municipality's pool drawing guidelines.

Approvals step by step
  • Ask your community whether it needs its own NOC

Many managed communities want to see the drawings first. Their NOC sits alongside the government approval and doesn't replace it.

  • Have a consultant prepare the pool drawings

Dubai Municipality expects a site plan, the deck, pool sections and depths, drainage, the pump room, electrical layout, filtration and disinfection, and safety details.

  • Get the drawings approved by Dubai Municipality

The consultant submits them online. Work on site should only start once the approval is issued.

  • Check the contractor's trade licence

Ask for a copy and make sure it covers swimming pool installation, not only landscaping or general maintenance.

Pool types that suit Dubai gardens

White-tiled concrete pool with built-in steps and a bench, grey stone deck and a frangipani tree on the lawn

Concrete

The usual choice. It can take any shape, with steps and a bench poured in, and you pick the tile.

Small plunge pool with dark green tiles in a white-walled courtyard, an olive tree in a stone planter beside it

Plunge pool

Up to about 4 × 3 m. It fits courtyards and townhouse gardens where a full pool won't.

Light blue one-piece fibreglass pool shell with curved moulded steps, newly set into a sandy villa garden

Fibreglass shell

Made in a factory, so there's less work on site. A crane has to be able to reach your garden.

Infinity-edge pool on a raised terrace reflecting a sunset sky, with a golf course and open desert beyond

Infinity edge

Water spills over one side into a hidden channel. It needs a balance tank and exact levels, and it costs the most.

Questions villa owners ask

Who builds the pool?

An independent contractor licensed in Dubai. You agree the price, the scope and the contract with them. Villa Pools Dubai passes your request on and doesn't build pools or sign building contracts.

What happens after I send the form?

We review your request and reply by email within 2 working days with the next steps. With your consent, we then share it with up to three independent licensed contractors who work in your community.

Do I need a chiller?

It isn't a legal requirement. In the hottest months, outdoor pool water in Dubai can get too warm to feel refreshing, and a chiller cools it down. Ask for it as a separate line in the quote, with its capacity for your pool's volume and the electrical work it needs.

Can I keep using the garden during the build?

Not much of it. The dig, the steel and concrete work and the deliveries take over the garden for most of the build, which is roughly eight to twelve weeks for a standard concrete pool. Ask the contractor how the machinery gets in, where the soil goes and how they will protect paving and plants you want to keep.

What should a pool quote include?

The size and depth, the structure and waterproofing, the pump, filter and dosing equipment by model, lighting, coping and decking, excavation and soil removal, who prepares and submits the drawings, the timeline, the stage payments and the warranty. Ask for a list of what is excluded, and whether the price includes 5% VAT.

The form takes about two minutes. If you're not sure about the budget yet, pick “Not sure yet”.
